Knowledge is power! In this subject, students explore the ins and outs of Australian and international copyright law. The course begins with an historical overview of copyright that dates back to the invention of the printing press and the first copyright legislation — the Copyright Act 1710 , commonly referred to as The Statute of Anne. Students also explore current day legislation and work through commonly used copyright terms and principles incl. moral rights, performers rights, Creative Commons licence schemes, collecting societies, recent infringement issues and more.
