Bill Palmer was the most helpful and well organised teacher I came across in my course. He was always willing to assist when experiencing difficulty in class and his teaching method was easy to understand and follow. Made class fun and had modern approach to teaching which makes students want to learn and progress in their music studies. Hi Bill, I had the luck to have Bill as my teacher during my music diploma. Not only does he tick all the boxes of being a good lecturer by being capable, knowledgeable and helpful but also brings a level of connection and attention that makes you want to do better as a student. I consider myself fortunate to have had Bill Palmer as a lecturer and tutor whilst completing the final year of my undergraduate degree with the University of Canberra. Bill was not only a knowledgeable, professional and excellent teacher, he also served as a mentor to myself and other students by far exceeding his duties and expectations within his role. Even in the busiest times, Bill was always approachable and willing to give honest feedback in a non-threatening way which was key to go acquire new skills and push your creativity beyond your comfort zone.
His assessments were challenging and fun, helping me to understand the content and once completed, I felt very confident that I was able to do projects on my own. He came to every class well prepared, infusing energy and answering every question that was thrown at him with respect and charisma.
I can keep going on and on about the positive impact that he made in me and my class but trying to summarise I can say that he is someone who is genuine, who really cares and in a fun way, allows you to learn. I just hope future students get to benefit from his encouragement and that he gets the acknowledgement he truly deserves.

In 2016 I was lucky enough to have Bill Palmer as my lecturer and tutor for 2 subjects.
I immediately found Bill to be very welcoming and affable, curating an excellent learning space that was safe and inclusive while simultaneously being challenging and informative.
As a teacher myself I have an immense amount of respect for how organised, punctual and consistent Bill is with his curriculum, lesson plans and delivery. As someone who works full time I often found it hard to get to lectures but could always rely on Bill to have his classes precisely documented in both text and video and uploaded at the same time each week. His knowledge and attention to detail in his field were always impressive and inspirational.
